Sciatica · Henderson, NV
Sciatica relief that addresses the cause, not just the pain.
Sharp pain shooting from the lower back down the leg, numbness in the foot, or a calf that goes weak after sitting. Sciatica has a cause, and the cause is what we treat. No medication, no surgery, and no guessing.
How we treat sciatica
Identify the cause, then treat it directly.
Sciatica is a symptom, not a diagnosis. The pain comes from something pressing on or irritating the sciatic nerve, and that something can be a lumbar disc bulge, piriformis syndrome, a sacroiliac joint problem, or simple spinal misalignment loading one side of the pelvis. The treatment for each of those is different. Most of the failed sciatica care we see was failing because the diagnosis was wrong.
At Tailored Touch LV in Henderson, the first visit is built around figuring out which one of those is happening. Once we know, the actual care is hands-on: targeted spinal adjustments that decompress the affected segment, soft-tissue work like IASTM and percussion therapy to release the muscles holding the joint in a bad position, and a short list of home movements picked for your specific cause, not a generic stretching routine.

What patients ask
Sciatica questions, answered.
How quickly does sciatica usually start to feel better?
Most patients feel real change within the first two to three visits. Full resolution depends on the cause. A disc bulge takes longer than piriformis tightness. Dr. Smith will give you a realistic timeline after the first exam, not a vague reassurance.
Do I need imaging before being treated?
Not for most cases. The exam is usually enough to identify the cause. If your symptoms point to something that needs imaging, such as severe weakness, bowel or bladder changes, or pain that does not respond to a few sessions, Dr. Smith will refer you for an MRI before continuing.
Can chiropractic make sciatica worse?
Done correctly, no. Skilled adjustments and soft-tissue work reduce pressure on the sciatic nerve. The risk comes from generic care that follows a script and ignores which structure is actually causing your pain. That is why we never treat sciatica as a single diagnosis.
What if I am too sore to be touched?
We have options. Acute flare-ups often respond best to gentle decompression, light percussion, and positioning before any direct adjustment. Tell us how it feels and we adjust the session in real time.
Stop waiting it out.
The first visit is $100 and includes a full sciatica evaluation, a treatment plan, and your first session. Most patients leave that visit feeling better.
